Lauren Whitman, MA, is a counselor and faculty member at the Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation (CCEF), where she has served for over a decade. She also serves as the developmental editor of the Journal of Biblical Counseling. Healing from a Painful Past

I am so thankful God led me to this small but powerful book. The daily devotions and reflection questions are short enough to not overwhelm, but go deep and direct. Though I've never met Lauren and likely won't on this side, she feels like she is sitting beside me, walking me through the pages, slowly, patiently, carefully...and offers hope. I have read SO many books on this topic over the years, way too many to count, and I am amazed at how this book stands out above the others for me. I'm so thankful for this resource.
